SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR) today announced it is participating in the Light Reading Ethernet Expo Americas taking place this week, November 8-9th, in New York City.

Nineteen of the top 20 mobile operators use Extreme Networks products in the core of their networks. At Ethernet Expo, the Company will be demonstrating its next generation mobile backbone and mobile backhaul solutions, in addition to hosted cloud and data center solutions.  The mobile solutions include its E4G family of cell-site routers, the Summit® X670 switch and BlackDiamond® X8 at booth #311

Extreme Networks E4G Mobile Backhaul offering enables mobile operators to deploy a 4G packet network that addresses the current requirements of 3G services while laying the foundation for a sophisticated and faster 4G mobile broadband network meeting the growing and global demands of emerging smartphones and multimedia services.

Education at Ethernet Expo:

Harpreet Chadha, vice president of product line management for Extreme Networks, will present in an executive panel on "New Backhaul Challenges with LTE" on Wednesday. The session discusses early patterns of LTE or 4G traffic, network performance, and how the backhaul network is evolving. Patrick Donegan, Senior Analyst for Heavy Reading, will moderate the panel.

The conference and exhibition from Light Reading is the twelfth Ethernet event, which attracts hundreds of attendees including service providers, suppliers, enterprises and analysts.
