Leading AV players, as members of the AVnu Alliance, demonstrate high performance Ethernet-based AVB merging theater and studio quality media over a converged network.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- April 9, 2014 -- Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: EXTR), a leader in high performance networking, will be displaying technology at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show, taking place April 5-10 in Las Vegas. Extreme Networks is demonstrating its AVnu-certified AVB Ethernet switches, the technology that enables professional grade video and audio over a common Ethernet network.

Extreme Networks' AVnu-certified switch, as well as other professional grade audio and video equipment, are on display in the Axon Digital Design booth (Number N4606) at the NAB Show, providing A/V pros a firsthand experience with AVnu-certified technology and equipment.

"As a result of the collaboration between vendor members of the AVnu alliance to allow for the testing and certification of products, AVB technology presents a great opportunity for A/V professionals to move to a simple, high performance Ethernet network," said Todd Acree, director of product management for Extreme Networks.

With 90,000 attendees and 1,500+ exhibitors, the NAB Show is the world's largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums.

"Many of today's broadcasters are looking for a new infrastructure and products for the next generation of broadcast. These broadcasters have become increasingly interested in Ethernet and AVB as the solution to help them move toward more efficient workflow in the studio," said Rick Kreifeldt, AVnu Alliance President and Chairman. "AVnu Alliance and AVB technology offer the next step in live production and studio quality audio and video for these broadcasters."

At Integrated Systems Europe in February, the AVnu Alliance announced that Extreme Networks Summit® X440 Series of stackable switches has passed all testing for certification, as the first Ethernet switch to achieve standards, and bears the AVnu-certified Logo.
